CHESTER, PA. -- Goalie
Calista Burke made seven saves while
Jillian Jankowski and
Olivia Giordano added scores in each half to help lift Rowan to a 2-0 shutout win at Widener Wednesday evening.
For Burke, the seven stops were a career high as the sophomore faced 12 shots on the night for her second clean sheet of the year. Jankowski netted her fourth goal of the season in the 26th minute with Giordano adding a tally early in the second half, her third, in the 49th minute, to keep the Profs unblemished in five games this season (4-0-1).
Assists were given to
Julianna Giordano on Jankowski's goal and to
Natalie Pantalone on the score from
Olivia Giordano.
The Profs put up 11 shots on the night. Each team recorded three corner kicks apiece.
Widener keeper Samantha Coon registered three stops in net as the Pride was handed its first defeat on the season (2-1-2).
Rowan returns to action on Monday with a 4 p.m. matchup at Bryn Mawr.
