POST-GAME PRESS CONFERENCE
The Profs (33-8) added an insurance run in the seventh as Schooley reached base on an error and drive in Murphy.
Rowan then exploded for five runs in the eighth to put the game out of reach, as
Hunter Wroniuk started off with a double and runs were driven in by
Tyler Cannon with a sacrifice fly,
Ryan Murphy with a single and
Patrick Defeciani with a double.
Miles tossed his first complete game of the season in the extreme heat, facing 35 Washington & Jefferson (37-10) batters and striking out six. The Presidents loaded the bases in the fourth, but MIles got out of the jam.
Each of Rowan's batters had at least one hit in the game, while Murphy went 3-for-5 with two runs, a triple and RBI, and Defeciani notching two hits, as did Wroniuk and
Ryan Mostrangeli.
Rowan picked up three straight victories on the weekend to earn the Regional title, defeating Mitchell, 7-1, and then Washington & Jefferson twice, by scores of 14-7 and 9-0.
The Super Regional will consist of a best-of-three game series with the Rochester Regional winner that will determine a berth to the NCAA Division III College World Series. Rowan will be seeking its second straight trip.
