INDIANAPOLIS -- Rowan will be sending a total of 13 student-athletes to the 2022 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships as the selections were announced late Friday. Four of the 13 will have qualified for more than one event.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
The championships take place May 26-28 at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio. The University of Mount Union will serve as hosts for the three-day event. For each men's individual event contested, including the decathlon, the top 20 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each relay event contested, the top 16 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted into the competition.
The 4x400 relay team of
Nana Agyemang,
Jah'mere Beasley,
Marquise Young, and
Amara Conte will look to make it two in a row after winning the event at last year's championships. Conte was a member of that top relay team.
Individually, Beasley will compete in the 200 meters while Young races in the 110 meter hurdles. Beasley aims for his second All American honor, as he was runner-up in the same event a year ago.
Agyemang has qualified in the long jump, along with
Ahmir Johnson.
Johnson will also vie for a second-straight title in the triple jump, as the sophomore won the event in 2021.
John Owens and
Treshan Stevenson will represent Rowan in the 400 meter hurdles while
Earnest Daniel competes in the high jump.
The Profs will send the five javelin throwers in
Greg Poloso,
Dan McAleavey,
Edgar Rosa,
Lane Owens, and
Julio Lebron. McAleavey and Lebron were All Americans in the same event last season McAleavey was second while Lebron finished sixth. Poloso heads into the championship ranked #1 in Division III.
