Early Charge Paces Women's Soccer Past Ramapo, 5-0

MAHWAH, NJ -- Rowan got off to a fast start to go on and defeat Ramapo, 5-0, Saturday afternoon in a New Jersey Athletic Conference victory.

Nina Carlson scored twice while Olivia Giordano added a score and two assists, all coming in the game's first 25 minutes. A five-save clean sheet for goalie Calista Burke gave the sophomore her eighth-straight and ninth overall shutout of the season.

Simone Pacetti and Francesca DiColandrea also tallied for Rowan, who ran their record to 10-0-2 overall and unbeaten in conference play (6-0).

Carlson scored in the 13th minute off a helper from Giordano to put the visitors on ahead, 1-0. Giordano made it 2-0 as the rookie converted on a penalty kick in 21st minute. The duo hooked up again just over five minutes later for Carlson's eighth tally on the year. Pacetti added a late unassisted score right before the half to stake the Profs to a 4-0 edge at the break.

DiColandrea capped the scoring with her first of her career in the 88th minute with Emily Casale drawing the assist.

Ramapo's Emma Conlan and Makenna Tahbaz combined to make 14 saves as the Profs fired off 28 shots on the day.

Rowan returns home on Wednesday to square off with #12 TCNJ at 6 p.m. in the first meeting since last season's conference championship game.
