GLASSBORO, N.J. -- Two goals from
Aidan Sheehan helped steer the Rowan University Women's Soccer Team to a 3-1 win over visiting Widener Wednesday evening.
Natalie Pantalone also tallied for the Profs while goalie
Bristol Pizzuto recorded five saves in net.
The Pride's Samantha Coon notched four stops for the visitors on night.
Pantalone got Rowan on the board in the 28th minute with her first goal on the season.
Kalin Priest set up Pantalone along the right endline with a pass into the box to beat Coon up high for the 1-0 lead.
Sheehan made it 2-0 with 12:55 remaining in the period as her one timer just inside the box from
Cassidy McErlain found the back of the net. Sheehan struck again for her team-leading fifth score as she was able to take advantage of an errant misplay back to Coon to get behind the defense and make it a three-goal lead.
Widener was able break up the shutout attempt from the Prof defense with a goal in the 87th minute.
Rowan will get back at it on Friday as they take on Bryn Mawr here in Glassboro starting at 6 p.m.
