#17 Baseball Posts Season-High Runs in 18-2 Win Over TCNJ

GLASSBORO, NJ - The 17th-ranked Rowan baseball team pounded out 17 hits to post a season-high total in runs as it defeated TCNJ, 18-2, in NJAC action in cold and windy conditions. The win improves the Profs to 12-3 and 10-1 in the conference.

Lefthander Drew Ryback shut down the Lions, going seven innings and allowing just four hits while striking out eight to improve his record to 5-0.
 
Among Rowan's leaders at the plate were Ryan McIsaac, who was 4-for-6 with two runs and two RBI, Jared Marks who went 2-for-3 with three runs and an RBI and Nick Schooley, who was 2-for-5 with two runs and four RBI. Trip McCaffrey had a triple and drove in four runs on the day while Jason Bobiak was 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI as each of Rowan's starters who batted scored at least one run in the game.
 
The Profs started the scoring in the second inning as they took a 5-0 lead, helped by a three-run double from Schooley and RBI singles from McIsaac and Bobiak. They added another in the third as Ryan Murphy doubled and eventually scored on a sacrifice fly from McCaffrey.
 
Rowan batted around in the fourth inning to score eight runs on five hits and take a commanding 14-0 lead, led by an RBI double from Schooley and a bases-loaded triple from McCaffrey. Marks, Bobiak and McIsaac also added RBI singles.
 
TCNJ (5-10; 4-6 NJAC) got its first hit off Ryback in the fifth inning when Aydon Chavis singled and the Lions scored two for their only runs of the game.
 
Rowan added four in the eighth inning with a double by Ryan Mostrangeli to score Jared Marks and a two-run double from Alex Kokos.

Chris Curcio made his first pitching appearance of the season, going one inning in relief of Ryback and posting one strikeout, while Murphy made his debut onthe mound after serving as the DH, and pitched the ninth, ending the game with a strikeout.
 
The teams will play again tomorrow at TCNJ and then the Profs will visit Ramapo for a doubleheader on Saturday.
