Leacott Wins Career Game #300 as Women's Soccer Downs Maine-Fort Kent, 2-0

GLASSBORO, NJ -- Head coach Scott Leacott earned his 300th career victory Monday night as the Profs defeated Maine-Fort Kent, 2-0.

Rowan's Emma DeMaise assisted on both first half goals with freshman Calista Burke earning a shutout in net in her first collegiate start as the team notches its fourth-straight win.

Leacott, now in his 22nd season at the helm, owns a 300-89-32 career coaching record and becomes one of only 25 coaches in Division III with 300 or more wins.

The team struck twice in the game's first 23 minutes. Jessica Logan redirected a ball aimed at the net from DeMaise with a nice header in the ninth minute to open the scoring. For Logan, it was her third score of the season.

DeMaise later set up Aidan Sheehan for her team-leading eighth goal with a nice through ball just outside the box. Sheehan then calmly flicked it over a charging Dominique Valdez of Maine-Fort Kent to make it a two-goal game.

Burke made four saves, two in each half, in helping record the team's eighth clean sheet of the season. Valdez also finished with four stops for Maine-Fort Kent.

The Profs travel to Montclair State on Saturday in a big NJAC showdown. With a win, the team can lock up one of the two top playoff seeds and first-round bye.
