GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's soccer team shut out Penn State Brandywine, 5-0 in the season opener on Friday night.

Kelsey Holt (jr. Lawrenceville, NJ/Lawrence) and
Dominique Marrone (jr. Marlton, NJ/Bishop Eustace Prep) each contributed with one marker. Midfielders
Jessica Logan (so. Jobstown, NJ/Northern Burlington County Reg.) and
Bethany Sansone (so. Roxbury, NJ/Roxbury) and forward/midfielder
Jessica Beck (so. Glassboro, NJ/Gloucester County Institute of Technology) registered one assist apiece.
Goalies
Bristol Pizzuto (so. Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central Reg.) and
Amanda Leber (jr. Chesterfield, NJ/Hopewell Valley Central) shared the shutout. Pizzuto made three stops in 57 minutes. For the Lions, goalkeeper Emily Bush (sr. Bayville, NJ/Central Reg.) recorded 19 saves.
Lubonski started the scoring at 6:41, when she headed in a corner kick by Logan. Jones hit the net (25:05) with a low shot that hit the right side of the net. Holt made it 3-0 at the half. She blasted a shot from the right side off a pass from Beck. Jones produced her second marker at 57:28. She scored with a header on Sansone's corner kick. Marrone had the final goal on a penalty kick (72:31).
