SWARTHMORE, PA – The Rowan University baseball team lost its final regular season contest at Swarthmore College, 3-1 on Saturday. 
 
The Profs have a 30-11 record, while the Garnet are 27-12 overall. 
 
Shortstop Luke Mutz (fr. Swarthmore, PA/Strath Haven) led Swarthmore with two hits, a run batted in (RBI) and one run. Left fielder Charles Levitt (sr. Minneapolis, MN/Blake School) contributed a double and one RBI, while right fielder Holden Bridge (jr. Temple Terrace, FL/Tampa Prep) had one hit and a RBI. Right-hander Ricky Conti (sr. Claremont, CA/Damien) earned the win (6-2), tossing five innings and striking out six. Righty Jack Corkery (jr. Tega City, SC/Fort Mill) recorded his second save on the season. 
 
For Rowan, catcher 
Steven Hewa (sr. Galloway, NJ/Absegami) posted two hits. Right fielder 
Frankie Aiello (jr. Wyckoff, NJ/Ramapo) chipped in a hit and scored once. Right-hander 
Danny Serreino (sr. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Liberty) suffer the loss (5-3), pitching three innings and striking out four. Righty 
Andrew DiPiazza (sr. Bayville, NJ/Central Reg.) hurled three frames and fanned four batters. 
 
The Profs went ahead, 1-0 in the third inning. Aiello reached first on a single to center field. Left fielder 
Michael Manganella (so. West Milford, NJ/Don Bosco Prep) singled to right center and advanced to second on the throw, while Aiello crossed home.
 
Swarthmore took the lead, 2-1 in the bottom half. With runners on first and second, Bridge hit a RBI single to the shortstop. Levitt followed with a double to center field to bring in catcher Sam Jacobson (so. Ellicott City, MD/Howard). The Garnet added an insurance run in the fourth when Mutz singled to center field and second baseman Michael Sepe (so. Stonybrook, NY/Ward Melville) came home. 
 
The baseball team will have to wait to see if it receives an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. The selection show for the national tournament is on Monday, May 13 at noon on the web at ncaa.com.
