GLASSBORO, NJ – First baseman
Mitch Walker knocked in the game-winning run for the Rowan University baseball team in a 9-8 win over Moravian College on Wednesday. The game was called in the eighth inning due to darkness.
After back-to-back intentional walks to load the bases in the eighth, Walker (jr. Pennsville, NJ/Pennsville Mem.) hit a sacrifice fly to right field and center fielder
Matt Woods (sr. Berlin, NJ/Eastern Reg.) came home to win the game.
The Profs improve to 18-5 overall, while the Greyhounds have a 14-12 record.

Dillon Mendel (sr. Sparta, NJ/Sparta), designated hitter
Anthony Harrold (sr. Woodbury, NJ/Gloucester Catholic), Walker and Woods all had two hits apiece. Woods totaled three runs batted in (RBI), a double and scored twice. Walker added two runs and a RBI. Third baseman
Nick Schooley (so. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) chipped in two RBIs, one hit and one run.
On the mound, Woods earned the win and is 1-0 on the season. He pitched one inning and struck out two batters. Left-hander
Shane Kubrak (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Paul IV) tossed 3.2 frames and fanned five batters, while righty
Jeremy Dyzenhaus (jr. Morganville, NJ/Marlboro) threw 2.2 innings and struck out two.
For Moravian, left fielder Thomas Philipps (so. Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks W.) registered three hits, including two doubles, three RBIs and one run. Second baseman Ian Csencsits (jr. Northampton, PA/Northampton Area) produced two hits and one RBI and scored once. Righty Connor Morro (jr. Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) suffered the loss (2-1), allowing two hits and one run.
The Brown and Gold started slow as the Greyhounds built a 7-1 lead in the third inning. Rowan cut the deficit to 7-5 after scoring four runs in the fourth. Harrold scored on a bases loaded walk and Woods blasted a double to knock in three runs.
Moravian plated a run in the fifth to lead 8-5 when Philipps doubled and catcher Chase Rogers (sr. Allentown, PA/Salisbury) came home. The Profs retaliated in the sixth scoring three runs to tie the contest. Mendel had a RBI single and right fielder
Dan Shane (sr. Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) scored on a ground out. Woods evened the contest when he crossed home on a wild pitch.
Rowan travels to Camden County College in Blackwood, NJ to face conference opponent Rutgers-Camden on Thursday, April 11 at 3:30 p.m.
