ITHACA, NY – The Rowan University men's indoor track & field team competed on the first day of the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Championships on Friday.
Ithaca College is the host for the two-day meet. The Profs are in fourth place out of 35 teams with 17 points.
The 4x400 meter relay had the top finish for Rowan coming in second place with a season best time of 3:21.28. The squad consisted of
Airrion Scott (fr. Trenton, NJ/Ewing),
Vincent Delle (so. Williamstown, NJ/Old Bridge),
Chris Mesiano (sr. Pittsgrove, NJ/A.P. Schalick) and
John Owens (fr. Newnan, GA/West Windsor-Plainsboro N. (NJ)).
The distance medley relay team of
Jeff Stewart (fr. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Mem.),
Chris Mesiano (sr. Pittsgrove, NJ/A.P. Schalick),
Kevin Lauer (fr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) and
Josh Munoz (fr. Closter, NJ/Northern Valley Reg. at Demarest) claimed fourth with a time of 10:17.59.
Earnest Daniel (so. Woolwich, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) was fifth in the triple jump with a season best mark of 45' 9.25" (13.95 m).
Frankie Richard (so. Allendale, NJ/Northern Highlands Reg.) leaped a distance of 42' 0" (12.80 m).
In the 60 meter hurdles,
Tyler Garland (so. Glassboro, NJ/Deptford Twp.) took sixth in 8.45, which qualified for the final on Saturday.
John Nguyen (so. Absecon, NJ/Absegami) and
Marcello Pinnero (fr. Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) came in 15th (8.67) and 17th (8.80) respectively.
Julian Pratt (jr. Camden, NJ/Camden) advanced to the final in the 60 meter dash with an eighth place finish in 7.06.
Dayquan Murray (fr. Atco, NJ/Hammonton) just missed the cut coming in 10th, recording a time of 7.07.
Matt Russo (jr. Westfield, NJ/Westfield) claimed 16th in the 5000 meters with a time of 15:37.36.
The meet concludes on Saturday, March 2, starting at 10 a.m.
