GLASSBORO - The Rowan football closes out the road portion of its schedule on Saturday, November 9, when the Profs visit Christopher Newport at 1 p.m. at TowneBank Stadium. The game will be broadcast on Rowan Radio (WGLS 89.7) with live streaming through CNU's website.

The Series
Rowan holds a 7-3 edge in the series with Christopher Newport, but has lost the last two to the Captains. The Profs' last win against CNU was on Oct. 1, 2016 at home. Rowan's last win here in Newport News was during the 2015 season.

About the Profs
Rowan has alternated wins and losses the last four games and is seeking to bounce back from a 24-17 home defeat to Montclair State. The Profs held a 17-10 lead but saw MSU rally for two touchdowns in the second half, while Rowan's late-game drive came up short.

About Christopher Newport
The Captains have an identical record to the Profs, and have also gone 2-2 in their last four, while falling 51-0 to Salisbury last week. QB Jack Anderson is averaging 146.2 passing yards per game and RB Nehemiah James is gaining 38.9 yards per game on the ground.

Christopher Newport scored a 39-6 win last year at Coach Wackar Stadium. Rowan struck first in the opening quarter, when WR
Elijah Rehm returned a 66-yard punt to the end zone, to take a 6-0 lead. But CNU then scored the next 39 points, as QB Jack Anderson went 24-for-37 for 313 yards.

Last Time Out
Montclair State scored a touchdown with 5:31 remaining to rally from a 17-10 halftime deficit and earn a 24-17 win over Rowan last Saturday. Rowan had one more chance and started its final drive of the game on their own 36 with 5:31 to play. A 28-yard completion to
Nick Grosso moved them to the Montclair State 33.
Messiah Divine ran five times to gain 28 yards and advanced the Profs to the visitors' four-yard line for first and goal, but MSU stopped Rowan on four straight plays to take over with :34 left, and the Red Hawks ran out the clock.

Grosso led the Profs with five catches for 86 yards, while
John Maldonado and
Elijah Rehm each had three receptions for 45 yards, with Rehm scoring one touchdown. Divine gained 83 yards on 24 carries and quarterback
Mike Husni completed 13-for-21 for 184 yards.

Making a Difference
Sophomore
Mike Mascioli has led the defense as of late. In the past two games he has recorded a total of 20 tackles, with 14 solos, as well as 5.0 tackles for loss (total of 15 yards). Mascioli also has an interception in each of the last two games returning them for an average of 11.5 yards.

For the Defense
The Profs have made some big plays on defense this year. They are tied for fourth in the nation in defensive TDs with four and tied for 10th in fumbles recovered with 11. The Profs are also tied with Wesley for the lead in the NJAC in opponents' fourth-down conversions, holding their foes to just 40 percent.

Sophomore
Mike Husni has thrown for 1,268 yards and 11 touchdowns this season while averaging 3.2 yards per carry. He ranks third in the NJAC in total offense with 194.8 yards per game and is fourth in pass efficiency with 136.5 yards. Â
