Women's Soccer Falls At TCNJ, 2-0 In NJAC Semifinals

EWING, NJ – The Rowan University women's soccer team had its season end with a 2-0 loss at The College of New Jersey in the semifinals of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championship Tournament.  
 
The Profs were the fourth seed and they finish the year with a 10-8-1 record.  This was Rowan's 17th straight appearance in the conference tournament. The top seed The College of New Jersey is 15-1-1 overall. This week, the Lions are ranked fourth in the United Soccer Coaches National Poll and first in the South Atlantic Region.
 
In the other semifinal game, the second seed Montclair State University defeated the third seed Stockton University, 2-0.  TCNJ hosts Montclair State on Friday, Nov 8 in the conference final. The NJAC champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
 
In the first round, Rowan shut out the fifth seed William Paterson University, 2-0.  Stockton advanced on penalty kicks (5-4) against the sixth seed Rutgers-Camden. The game was scoreless after regulation and two overtimes.  
 
Midfielder/forward Amelia Curtis scored the first goal in the fifth minute.  Forward Julianna Bertolino had the second marker on a breakaway after a pass from midfielder Taylor Nolan.  
 
Rowan goalkeeper Bristol Pizzuto made seven saves.
