WASHINGTON, DC – The Rowan University field hockey team shut out host Catholic University, 4-0 on Saturday.

Julie Johnson (sr. Mount Ephraim, NJ/Audubon) had the first goal at 24:18 with a shot after a penalty corner and midfielder
Molly Gorczyca (so. Hackettstown, NJ/Hackettstown) assisted. Forward
Rachel Galante (sr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Collingswood) produced the second on a penalty stroke with no time left in the first half.
Gorczyca knocked in a loose ball (38:33) after a blocked shot for a 3-0 advantage. Galante picked up her second tally at 47:57 with an assist from forward
Bridget Guinan (fr. Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts). It was Galante's fifth goal of the season.
The Profs compiled 22 shots while the Cardinals only had three. Rowan also dominated on penalty corners, 19-6. Goalie
Morgan Novak (jr. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Mem.) recorded her first shutout. For Catholic, goalie Kim McGroary (so. Phoenixville, PA/John Carroll) made eight saves.
Next, Rowan travels to Cabrini University on Wednesday, Sept. 12 for a 4 p.m. game.
