MISENHEIMER, NC – The Rowan University women's soccer team blanked Wesleyan College (GA), 10-0 on Friday evening.
Eight players contributed to the Profs' scoring and they had five goals in each half. Midfielder
Darah Wagner (jr. Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) started the scoring at 6:03 and forward
Abby Daigle (so. Millville, NJ/Millville) followed at 8:34.
Daria Jones (jr. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Mem.), midfielder
Megan McKinley (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) and midfielder
Caitlyn Cordell (fr. Middletown, DE/Appoquinimink) all hit the cage one time.
Cordell scored again at the 57
thminute. Midfielder
Bethany Sansone (fr. Roxbury, NJ/Roxbury) and midfielder/back
Jessica Logan (fr. Jobstown, NJ/Northern Burlington County Reg.) had one goal apiece. Midfielder
Dominique Marrone (so. Marlton, NJ/Bishop Eustace Prep) contributed with the ninth and 10
thmarkers. Forward
Jessica Beck (fr. Glassboro, NJ/Gloucester County Institute of Technology) registered three assists.
Rowan (2-1) compiled 33 shots while Wesleyan (0-2) had zero. Goalies
Shelby Money (sr. Vineland, NJ/Vineland, NJ) and
Amanda Leber (so. Pennington, NJ/Hopewell Valley Central) shared the shutout. For the Wolves, goalkeepers Carlee Dykes (jr. Powder Springs, GA/Hillgrove) and Kayleigh Bule (so. Macon, GA/Howard) made four and six saves respectively.
Rowan also plays Emory University on Sunday, Sept. 9 at 11 a.m. at Pfeiffer University.
