HAVERFORD, PA – The Rowan University field hockey team remained undefeated with a 5-2 win at Haverford College on Saturday.
The Profs, ranked 15
th, are 5-0 on the season while it was the first loss for the Fords (4-1). Rowan led 2-0 after the first half. Forward
Bridget Guinan (fr. Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) and midfielder
Kristiina Castagnola (fr. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.) scored at 3:14 and 9:50 respectively. Guinan had a tip in after forward
Krystyna Hovell (fr. Gibbsboro, NJ/Eastern Reg.) sent the ball into the circle.
Castagnola's score came on a penalty corner with an assist from back
Julie Johnson (sr. Mount Ephraim, NJ/Audubon). Haverford got on the scoreboard in the second half (41:49) with an unassisted goal by forward Emma Iacobucci (so. Malvern, PA/Great Valley). Forward
Rachel Galante (sr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Collingswood) and Johnson had back-to-back scores at 42:44 and 44:45 respectively.
The Fords' second goal came at 50:04. Attack Roxy Vassighi (so. Moorestown, N/Moorestown) hit the cage with shot off a corner and back Leela Krishnan (so. Darien, CT/Darien) had the assist. Galante had her second tally (65:05) on a penalty corner with a pass from back

Rowan compiled 32 shots while Haverford only had six. The Profs took 19 penalty corners to the Fords' three. For Haverford, goalie Hannah Roth (fr. Wilmette, IL/New Trier) turned away 16 shots. Rowan goalie
