Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's soccer team rolled to a 5-0 shutout over conference opponent Kean University on Saturday afternoon.
The Profs are 8-1-1 overall and 4-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. It was their fourth straight shutout. The Cougars have a 7-4 record with a 2-2 conference mark.
Rowan was ahead 3-0 after the first half. Forward
Shannon Reardigan (sr. Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro) started the scoring at 11:44 with a shot that went hit the crossbar then went into the goal. Forward
Melissa Kelly (sr. Pine Brook, NJ/DePaul Catholic) had the assist. Back
Casey Lubonski (so. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) blasted a shot into the right side of the net from 25 yards (27:57) for the second marker.
Midfielder/forward
Kelsey Holt (fr. Lawrenceville, NJ/Lawrence) kicked the ball into the goal (38:56) off a Cougar defender for her first collegiate tally. Forward
Lauren Wood (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) headed the ball over the goalkeeper for the fourth goal and first of the second half. Forward
Lauren Coletti (sr. Matawan, NJ/Old Bridge) ended the scoring at 79:12. She hit the upper right corner of the net with assists from midfielder
Shannon Walsh (sr. Linden, NJ/Linden) and midfielder/forward
Abby Daigle (fr. Millville, NJ/Millville).
Goalie
Shelby Money (jr. Vineland, NJ/Vineland) made three saves for her sixth shutout on the year. Kean goalie Casey McDonnell (so. Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Reg.) totaled nine saves. The Profs outshot the Cougars, 19-5.
Rowan is home again on Wednesday, October 4 versus Eastern University at 7 p.m.
