Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's soccer team scored four goals in the second half and shut out Eastern University, 4-0 on Wednesday night.
It was the Profs' fifth straight shutout. This week, Rowan (9-1-1) is ranked third in the South Atlantic Region and 19
th in the nation. The Eagles are 4-4-3 on the season.
Midfielder
Kelsi Stangl (fr. Park Ridge, NJ/Park Ridge) recorded her first collegiate goal at 50:54. She knocked in a rebound after forward
Cathryn McCarry's (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) shot was saved by Eastern goalie Adrianna Rowlands (jr. Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson). Midfielder
Sarah Rosenberg (jr. Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) hit the net for the second tally (75:45) and midfielder
Darah Wagner (so. Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) had the assist.
McCarry produced a goal of her own at 78:37. Her shot hit the right side of the net. Forward
Melissa Kelly (sr. Pine Brook, NJ/DePaul Catholic) ended the scoring (79:10) with a pass into the middle from Stangl.
Goalkeeper
Shelby Money (jr. Vineland, NJ/Vineland) stopped three shots for her seventh shutout of the year. Rowlands ended the game with 12 saves.
Rowan travels to conference opponent Montclair State University on Saturday, October 7 for a 1 p.m. game.
