Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's soccer team shut out conference opponent Rutgers-Camden, 4-0 on Wednesday night.
The Profs have a 10-1-2 record and they are 5-0-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC). This week, Rowan is ranked third in the South Atlantic Region and 17
th in the nation. The Scarlet Raptors drop to 5-8 overall and 1-5 in the conference.
Rowan produced two goals in each half. Forward
Cathryn McCarry (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) started the scoring at 29:38. She hit the net with a shot inside the box after a pass from forward
Melissa Kelly (sr. Pine Brook, NJ/DePaul Catholic). Forward
Lauren Coletti (sr. Matawan, NJ/Old Bridge) had help from forward
Lauren Wood (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) for the second marker (34:46). Coletti found the right corner of the Scarlet Raptors' net.
Kelly had a goal of her own at 54:46. She took a shot from the left side and the ball curved into the right side of the goal. Midfielder
Morgan Myers (sr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) had the final tally (83:10). Back
Ali Hicks (jr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River N.) took a free kick and midfielder
Lyndsey Vito (fr. Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro) passed the ball up to Myers.
Goalkeeper
Shelby Money (jr. Vineland, NJ/Vineland) stopped two shots for her ninth shutout. For Rutgers-Camden, goalie Katie Gurba (sr. Westampton, NJ/Holy Cross) made 13 saves.
Rowan travels to Rutgers-Newark on Saturday, Oct. 14 for a 7:30 p.m. NJAC game.
