Box Score WAYNE, NJ – The Rowan University women's soccer team won 2-0 at William Paterson University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Saturday evening.
The Profs are undefeated with a 9-0 record and they are 2-0 in the conference. The Pioneers are 5-2-1 overall with a 0-2 NJAC mark.
All of the scoring came in the second half. Forward
Cathryn McCarry (so. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) took a long ball from back
Ali Hicks (so. Toms River, NJ/Toms River N.) and put it in the net from five yards at the 49th minute. It is McCarry's fifth goal on the season. Forward
Maxine New (sr. Clayton, NJ/Clayton) put a shot inside the near post (54:05) for the second marker. She is second on the team with 17 points, seven goals and three assists.
Rowan ended the game with 15 shots and William Paterson had four. Goalkeeper
Shelby Money (so. Vineland, NJ/Vineland) recorded her sixth shutout. For the Pioneers, goalie Angela Sandelli (so. Landing, NJ/Roxbury) made four saves.
Next week, Rowan travels to Stockton University on Wednesday, Sept. 28 for a 6 p.m. conference game.
