Box Score EWING, NJ – The Rowan University women's soccer team won its second straight New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championship with a 1-0 victory at The College of New Jersey on Saturday evening.
 
The Profs (16-1-2) receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.  The national bracket will be announced at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7 at ncaa.com.  It was the first loss of the season for the Lions (16-1-1). 
 
Back Maddie Williscroft (so. Linwood, NJ/Mainland Reg.) scored the winning goal at 4:12. She knocked in a corner kick by forward Maxine New (sr. Clayton, NJ/Clayton). 
 
Goalkeeper Shelby Money (so. Vineland, NJ/Vineland) recorded her 12^th shutout of the season.  The NJAC Goalkeeper of the Year stopped eight shots.  For TCNJ, goalie Jessica Weeder (sr. Lebanon, NJ/North Hunterdon) made three saves.
 
The Profs, the second seed, advanced to the conference final on penalty kicks, 4-2 over the third seed Montclair State University on Wednesday night.  The top seeded Lions had a 4-0 shutout versus Kean University in the semifinals.  Both teams received first round byes.  In the last game of the regular season, TCNJ had a 2-0 win against Rowan on Oct. 26 in Ewing.    
 
Last year, Rowan defeated TCNJ, 2-1 in overtime for the conference championship.  The Profs also won the NJAC title in 2008.  Rowan is making its 12^th appearance in the NCAA tournament.  In 2015, the Profs advanced to the third round of the postseason.
