Box Score EWING, NJ – The College of New Jersey women's soccer team defeated Rowan University, 2-0 on Wednesday night in the final conference game of the regular season.
It was the Profs' first loss this year. They have a 15-1-1 record with a 7-1-1 conference mark. Rowan is the second seed in the New Jersey Athletic Conference and receives a first round bye. TCNJ is 15-0-1 overall and 9-0 in the NJAC.
The Profs host a semifinal game on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. The Profs meet the winner of the first round contest on Saturday, Oct. 29 between the third seed Montclair State University and the sixth seed William Paterson University. TCNJ, seeded first, plays the first round winner of the game with number four Stockton University and the fifth seed Kean University.
Both of the Lions' goals came in the second half. At 65:05, forward Christine Levering (sr. Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville) headed in a cross by midfielder Jessica Goldman (jr. Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery). Back Taylor Nolan (fr. Sparta, NJ/Sparta) scored at 81:08 with an assist from midfielder Marykate Sullivan (sr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E).
