Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's soccer team won 1-0 over Ithaca College in the Profs Soccer Classic on Friday night.   
 
Forward Cathryn McCarry (fr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) scored the winning goal at 70:48.  She hit the net with a high shot just under the cross bar from outside the box after a feed from forward Tori Miller (fr. Newfield, NJ/Delsea Reg.).
 
Goalie Courtney Simpson (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) made four saves for her first collegiate shutout.  For the Bombers, goalkeeper Beth Coppolecchia (sr. Katonah, NY/Somers) had three saves.  Ithaca was ranked 25th in the National Soccer Coaches Association Preseason Rankings. 
 
In the first game of the classic, Ursinus College shut out Shenandoah University, 4-0.  On Saturday, Ithaca (1-1) plays Ursinus (2-0) at 4:30 p.m. and Rowan (1-0) follows versus Shenandoah (0-2) at 7 p.m.
