Box Score COLLEGEVILLE, PA – The Ursinus College field hockey team won 4-1 over Rowan University on Wednesday night.
The seventh ranked Bears have a 5-1 record and the Profs are 3-4 overall. Forward Amber Steigerwalt (jr. Warrington, PA/Central Bucks S.) scored one goal and assisted on two. Forwards Danielle Stong (sr. Gilbertsville, PA/Boyertown Area), Devin Brakel (sr. West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro N.) and Samantha Macchio (sr. Redding, CT/Joel Barlow) each contributed with a goal. Midfielder Stephanie Cooper (sr. Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks W.) and forward Brooke Overly (so. Ephrata, PA/Ephrata) had one assist apiece.

Carly DeMarco (so. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester City) made seven saves.
Ursinus had a 3-1 advantage after the first half. Stong started the scoring at 4:36 with an assist from Steigerwalt. At 16:12, Steigerwalt made the score 2-0 on a pass from Overly. James' unassisted goal came at 29:36. Brakel put in the third tally and Steigerwalt had her second assist. Macchio ended the scoring with 40 seconds remaining. She scored after a penalty corner and Cooper registered the assist.
Rowan's home game on Saturday, Sept. 26 versus Haverford College has been rescheduled. The new date is Monday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m.
