Box Score HOBOKEN, NJ – The Rowan University field hockey team won 3-1 over Stevens Institute of Technology on Wednesday. It was the Profs' sixth straight victory.
Rowan has a 9-4 record while Stevens is 8-7 overall. Forward
Jenna Pressler (jr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) scored two goals and forward
Sam Browne (sr. West Milford, NJ/West Milford) had one goal and one assist. Back
Marisa Marini (sr. Carneys Point, NJ/Padua Academy (DE)) chipped in with an assist.
For the Ducks, forward Taylor Welch (jr. Ringwood, NJ/Lakeland Reg.) scored the goal with assists from back Briana DeGraaf (sr. Bayville, NJ/Central Reg.) and midfielder Nolie Prouty (jr. Glendora, CA/Glendora).
Rowan compiled 28 shots and Stevens took 10. Goalie
Carly DeMarco (so. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester City) made five saves in the Profs' cage. Ducks' goalie Emily Stukenborg (jr. Stockholm, NJ/Wallkill Valley Reg.) turned away 16 shots.
Pressler put Rowan on the scoreboard first at 2:55. She had a one-timer on a pass from Browne. At 11:50, Pressler produced the second goal unassisted. Welch scored with 2:27 left in the half. Browne ended the scoring at 62:33 when she deflected Marini's shot.
Rowan hosts Kean University on Friday, Oct. 16 at 6:30 p.m. There will be a fireworks display after the game.
