Box Score DOVER, DE - The Rowan University football team lost to #4 Wesley College, 37-7 on Saturday afternoon.
The Profs have an overall record of 1-2. The Wolverines remain undefeated with a 3-0 mark.

Withler Marcelin (jr. Ocean Twp., NJ/Ocean Twp.) ran the ball 12 times for 25 yards and one touchdown. Running back
Dante Tobler (so. New Milford, NJ/New Milford) had four carries for 21 yards. Quarterback
Bill McCarty (jr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) threw for 73 yards with eight completion in 17 attempts. Wide receiver
Russ Forchion (jr. Clementon, NJ/Hammonton) made three catches for 48 yards.

Tyler Jenkins (sr. Woodbury, NJ/Woodbury) recorded 11 tackles. Safety
Kurt Kingett (gr. Sewell, NJ/St. Augustine Prep) had 10 tackles, one for a loss (3 yards). Cornerback
Eddie Davis (jr. Camden, NJ/Camden) and linebacker
Darren Dungee (jr. Morristown, NJ/Morristown) each tallied eight tackles. Dungee also had 1.5 tackles for a loss (10 yards) and Davis blocked an extra point attempt.
For Wesley, quarterback Joe Callahan (jr. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit) completed 30 passes in 43 attempts for 364 yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Steve Koudossou (sr. Waldorf, MD/Westlake) caught eight passes for 137 yards and one TD. Running back Jamar Baynard (so. Townsend, DE/Middletown) had 23 carries for 87 yards and one touchdown. He also caught five passes for 57 yards.
Linebacker Sosthene Kapepula (sr. Olney, NJ/Sherwood) collected five tackles, one for a loss (4 yards). Defensive tackle Payton Rose (sr. Jessup, MD/Hammond) along with cornerbacks Leon Jones (sr. Lindenwold, NJ/Lindenwold) and Zane Campbell (so. Delran, NJ/Delran) each had four tackles. Rose added two tackles for a loss (3 yards) and Jones had one tackle for a loss (10 yards).
Wesley jumped out to a 6-0 lead with 7:44 to play in the first quarter on a one-yard touchdown run by Baynard. Davis blocked the point after attempt. Callahan hit Koudossou with a 32-yard touchdown pass at the 14:55 mark of the second for a 12-0 advantage. With 3:32 on the clock in the second quarter tight end Tory Robinson (so. Farmingdale, NJ/Howell) caught a 29-yard pass for a touchdown. The two-point conversion failed and the score was 18-0 at halftime.
In the third quarter, running back Brandon Wright (sr. Clayton, NJ/Clayton) scored on a one-yard run (9:21) and wide receiver Xavier Allen (so. Dover, DE/Dover) caught a 14-yard touchdown pass (6:43) for a 31-0 advantage. Defensive back
Jake Betkowski (fr. Middletown, NJ/Middletown, NJ) blocked the extra point attempt after Allen's touchdown. Marcelin capped off a 10-play 65-yard drive by scoring from two-yards out to make the score 31-7 with 1:34 left in the third quarter. Forchion caught three passes for 48 yards during the drive. Kicker Liam Dolly (so. Lanoka Harbor, NJ/Lacey Twp.) hit a 19-yard field goal (11:33) and kicker Brent Adams (fr. Greenwood, DE/Woodbridge) converted a 40-yard field goal (6:31) in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring.
The Profs have a bye next week. Rowan completes its three-game road trip on Saturday, October 4 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference opener at SUNY Cortland. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
