Box Score READING, PA – The Rowan University women's soccer team opened the season with a 1-0 loss  against York College (PA) in the first round of the Attack of the Lion Tournament.  The tournament is being held at Albright College.
 
Rowan will play Albright in the consolation game on Sunday, August 31 at noon.  In the other first round game, The College of Wooster defeated Albright, 2-1 in overtime.  York and Wooster meet in the championship at 2:30 p.m.
 
Forward Emily Birsa (fr. Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks S.) scored the winning goal in the 32nd minute.  Rowan totaled 15 shots while York had seven.  Goalie Melanie Glessner (sr. Waldorf, MD/Thomas Stone) stopped seven shots for the shutout.  For the Profs, Carleigh Trivino (so. Caldwell, NJ/Caldwell) made three saves.
