ResultsGLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's outdoor track and field team won a tri-meet against Georgian Court University and Lehman College on Friday. The Profs had a 129-68 victory versus Georgian Court and a 176-11 win against Lehman.
Shailah Williams (so. Pemberton, NJ/Pemberton Twp.) took first place in the 100 and 200 meter dash with school record times of 11.98 and 24.46 respectively. Both times are currently first in the NCAA Division III outdoor qualifying performances. Williams improved on the marks she set last year, 12.02 in the 100 meter dash and 24.47 in the 200.
Jamie Thompson (sr. Monmouth Jct., NJ/South Brunswick) finished first (14.60) in the 100 meter hurdles, second (17' 4.5", 5.30 meters) in the long jump and third (1:06.61) in the 400 meter hurdles. Priscila Antuna (sr. Waretown, NJ/Southern Reg.) came in first (11:51.31) in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.
The Profs won the 4x100 (48.15) and 4x400 (4:01.34) meter relays. The 4x100 meter relay included Williams, Thompson, Nia Lawrence (fr. Hainesport, NJ/Pemberton Twp.) and Melirah Searcy (jr. Edison, NJ/Edison). Williams, Tashay Wilson (jr. Hillside, NJ/Hillside), Jessalynn Wright (so. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) and Searcy were on the 4x400 meter relay.
Searcy ran a winning time of 57.50 in the 400 meter dash. She also had a first place (1:02.82) in the 400 meter hurdles. Vanessa Valdes (so. Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack) won the 800 meters (2:24.92) and Meghan Borz (sr. Buena, NJ/Buena Reg.) captured first (4:59.46) in the 1,500 meters. Grace Kaler (sr. Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany Hills) took first place (10:56.91) in the 3,000 meters. Melissa Lake (jr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) won the javelin with a throw of 142' (43.28 meters).
Kayla Leahey (sr. Keansburg, NJ/Warwick Valley) was the winner in the pole vault with a height of 8' 6" (2.59 meters). Lawrence finished second in the 100 (12.53) and 200 (26.00) meter dash. Paige Brown (fr. Princeton, NJ/W. Windsor-Plainsboro S.) had a second place (15.83) in the 100 meter hurdles and Felicia Smith (fr. Neptune, NJ/Neptune) was third (15.95). Smith finished second (31' 6", 9.60 meters) in the triple jump.
Wright came in second (59.04) in the 400 meters and the pole vault (8' 6", 2.59 meters). Onyi Obelle (so. Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack) took second (11:00.48) in the 3,000 meters followed by Catherine Nolan (jr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Holy Spirit), third (11:06.00). Sam Kamper (sr. Middletown, NJ/Middletown N.) finished second (4' 11.5", 1.51 meters) in the high jump and Brown was third (4' 11.5", 1.51 meters).
Nicole Ras (fr. Middletown, NJ/Middletown N.) was third (16' 10", 5.13 meters) in the long jump. Michelle Relation (jr. Paulsboro, NJ/Paulsboro) took third (102' 3", 31.18 meters) in the discus and Jess Lomonaco (sr. Blackwood, NJ/Triton Reg.) was fourth (101' 8.5", 30.99 meters). Lomonaco also had a fourth place (126' 9", 38.64 meters) in the hammer. Katie Juniewicz (fr. Galloway, NJ/Absegami) had a third place (5:04.37) in the 1,500 meters followed by Samantha Farina (jr. Bayville, NJ/Central Reg.), fourth (5:05.98). Farina was also fourth (11:19.58) in the 3,000 meters.
