Box Score EWING, NJ – The College of New Jersey field hockey team defeated Rowan University, 3-2 in overtime for the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) title on Saturday afternoon.
Forward Erin Healey (sr. Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan) scored the winning goal at 13:18 in overtime. Healey tipped in a shot by midfielder Erin Waller (sr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.).
The Lions (19-1) receive the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. The Profs (14-5) will have to wait until late Sunday night (November 9) to see if they receive an at-large bid to the national tournament. In the NJAC semifinals, TCNJ, the top seed, had a 5-1 victory over the fourth seed Kean University while the second seed Rowan won 3-2 against the third seed Montclair State University.
Lions' goalie Kelly Schlupp (so. Holland, PA/Council Rock S.) made three saves. For the Profs, goalie Carly DeMarco (fr. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester City) stopped six shots. Back

Sam Browne's (jr. West Milford, NJ/West Milford) shot into the Lions' cage. Forward Lindsey Hatch (sr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) produced the tying goal (55:04) with an assist from forward Danielle Andreula (so. New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt).
In the first half, Browne put Rowan on the scoreboard first. She scored with a one-timer at 4:02 after a centering pass from Mecchella. Andreula tied the score (26:16) when she knocked the ball in at the far post on a feed from Waller.
