Box Score MONTCLAIR, NJ – The Montclair State University women's soccer team won 1-0 over Rowan University in the semifinals of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championship Tournament on Wednesday night.
The top seeded Red Hawks (17-1-1) host the second seed The College of New Jersey (15-2) in the conference final on Saturday, November 8. TCNJ defeated Richard Stockton College, 2-0 in the other semifinal game. The NJAC champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
The fourth seeded Profs (12-6-1) will have to wait until Monday, November 10 to see if they receive an at-large bid to the national tournament. Rowan had a 1-0 shutout over the fifth seed Kean University in the first round of the conference tournament.
Midfielder Melissa Koster (sr. Yardville, NJ/Steinert) scored the winning goal on a penalty kick at 42:48. Goalie Gina Policastro (sr. East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) made two saves for her 14th shutout. For the Profs, goalkeeper
