Box Score MAHWAH, NJ – The Rowan University women's soccer team won 2-1 at Ramapo College in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Saturday afternoon.
The Profs are 9-2 overall with a seven-game win streak and they are 4-0 in the conference. The Roadrunners have a 2-6-2 record with a 1-3 NJAC mark.
Midfielder/forward
Melissa Kelly (fr. Parsippany, NJ/DePaul Catholic) produced the Profs' first goal at 8:29. She had a breakaway and hit the lower left side of the net. Back
Morgan Myers (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) made the score 2-0 (48:44). She scored when Ramapo failed to clear the ball after a corner kick.
The Roadrunners spoiled the shutout with a header by forward/midfielder Nani Vizcaino (fr. Lodi, NJ/Lodi) at 63:34. She knocked in a cross from forward Gabriella DiLiberto (fr. East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick).
Rowan ended the game with 19 shots while Ramapo had 10. Goalie
Carleigh Trivino (so. Caldwell, NJ/Caldwell) made five saves for the win. For the Roadrunners, goalkeeper Jessica Cusick (fr. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) stopped five shots.
Rowan plays at home against Montclair State University on Saturday, October 11 at 6 p.m.
