TCNJ Women's Soccer Wins 2-0 Over Visiting Rowan

Box Score EWING, NJ – The College of New Jersey women's soccer team won 2-0 over visiting Rowan University on Tuesday night.  It was the last game of the regular season for both teams.
 
The 13th ranked Lions are 14-2 overall and the Profs have an 11-5-1 record.  TCNJ finished 8-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) and Rowan had a 6-2-1 conference mark.  The Lions earned a first round bye in the conference tournament while the Profs will host a first round game on Saturday, November 1.
 
Goalie Kendra Griffith (sr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill W.) stopped five shots for her 12th shutout this season.  Rowan goalkeeper Carleigh Trivino (so. Caldwell, NJ/Caldwell) made seven saves.
 
Both of the Lions' goals came in the first half.  Forward Korrie Harkins (sr. Wenonah, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) scored at 32:06.  She hit the inside of the post after a centering pass from forward Christine Levering (so. Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville).  Levering knocked in a loose ball (33:50) for the second goal.
 
The first and second seeds in the NJAC Championship Tournament have a bye in the first round (November 1).  The semifinals are scheduled for Wednesday, November 5 and the championship is on Saturday, November 8.  The conference champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
