Women's Soccer Shuts Out Emory & Henry, 6-0

Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, VA – The Rowan University women's soccer team shut out Emory & Henry College, 6-0 on Sunday at the University of Mary Washington Tournament.  The Profs are undefeated with a 4-0 record.

Rowan had five different players that contributed with one goal apiece and one was an own goal.  Backs Kayla Leahey (jr. Keansburg, NJ/Warwick Valley (NY)) and Miranda Donnian (sr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) each scored in less than a three-minute span.  Midfielder Lisa Cella (fr. Middletown, NJ/Middletown N.) assisted on Leahey's goal.

In the second half, forward Tiffany Kelly (so. Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany), midfielder Megan Carchidi (fr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) and forward Samantha Reader (fr. Maple Shade, NJ/Maple Shade) all hit the net one time.  Forward Nicole Bashford (fr. Union, NJ/Union), midfielder Chelsea Pitonyak (jr. Yardville, NJ/Steinert) and Leahey all picked up an assist.

Rowan accumulated 21 shots while Emory & Henry only had one.  Goalkeeper Carleigh Trivino (fr. Caldwell, NJ/Caldwell) and Jamie Cheeka (fr. Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) shared the shutout.  For the Wasps, goalie Sarah Jerome (sr. Charlotte, NJ/Myers Park) stopped 10 shots. 

On Saturday, Rowan had a 2-0 shutout over Washington and Lee University and Mary Washington blanked Emory and Henry, 3-0.
