Box Score ST. DAVIDS, PA – The Eastern University field hockey team edged visiting Rowan University, 4-3 on Saturday.

Forward Lauren Gay (so. York, PA/West York) scored the winning goal at 68:33 with an assist from forward Abby Wagner (sr. Glen Rock, PA/Susquehannock). The Eagles improve to 3-4 overall while the Profs are 3-3 on the season.

The score was tied at one after the first half. Eastern went ahead 3-1 after two straight goals by forward Jess Jaindl (sr. Quakertown, PA/Christopher Dock). The first came on a penalty corner with an assist from back Megan Bolton (so. Souderton, PA/Christopher Dock). Wagner picked up the assist on Jaindl's second goal.

Rowan answered with two goals, which knotted the score 3-3. Forward Johanna James (so. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester) hit the cage at 46:46 and forward Jenna O'Sullivan (jr. Sicklerville, NJ/Timber Creek Reg.) followed at 51:53.

Eastern totaled 17 shots and Rowan took 14. Goalie Jennifer O'Neill (so. Erial, NJ/Timber Creek Reg.) had four saves for the Eagles and goalie Kim Pyhel (fr. Chatham, NJ/Chatham) made nine stops for the Profs.

Wagner had the first goal of the game at 2:13. She deflected Bolton's shot into the cage. At 21:35, James evened the score with an unassisted goal.

Next week, Rowan starts its conference schedule on Tuesday, September 24 at home against Richard Stockton College at 7 p.m.
