Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's soccer team lost to Ursinus College, 2-1 on Wednesday evening.
The Bears are 4-2 overall while it was the first loss for the Profs, now 4-1 on the season. This week, Rowan was ranked sixth in the South Atlantic Region.
Forward/midfielder Valerie Bedrock (jr. Waldwick, NJ/Ramsey) scored both Ursinus goals. She recorded the game winner at 76:50 on a corner kick. The ball went through Rowan goalkeeper Carleigh Trivino's (fr. Caldwell, NJ/Caldwell) hands and bounced off a defender into the net. Bedrock tied the score at 67:12 on a free kick with a high shot just under the crossbar.
The Profs led 1-0 after the first half on a goal by back Miranda Donnian (sr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.). Donnian knocked in forward Tiffany Kelly's (so. Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany) corner kick.
Rowan totaled 17 shots while Ursinus took six. Goalkeeper Kara DiJoseph (sr. Turnersville, NJ/Washington Twp.) made eight saves and Trivino had two.
