NJAC Athletes of the Week
Rowan's Demetrius Rooks (sr. Galloway, NJ/Absegami) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Track Athlete of the Week for the fourth time this season.
At the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships, Rooks claimed the crown in the 400 meter hurdles by placing first in a field of 30 competitors with championships and stadium record time of 51.79. By virtue of his NCAA Division III third best qualifying time of 51.79, Rooks will travel to LaCrosse, WI to compete at the NCAA Division III National Outdoor Championships on May 23. He is also a member of the Profs’ 4x400 meter relay that qualified for the national championhips. The performances by the 2013 NJAC Men’s Most Outstanding Outdoor Athlete helped propel the Profs to a 14th place finish in the 65-team ECAC Championship.
