SPRINGFIELD, MA – The Rowan University men’s track and field team competed on the final day of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships on Friday.  The championships were held at Springfield College.

Demetrius Rooks (sr. Galloway, NJ/Absegami) won the 400 meter hurdles in 51.79.  His time was an ECAC and stadium record.  The 4x100 meter relay took 13th with a time of 42.67.  The relay included Brandon Taylor (sr. Woodstown, NJ/Woodstown), Tyler Coulbourn (fr. Franklinville, NJ/Delsea Reg.), Frank Rubino (fr. Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) and Taylor Purdue (sr. Highland Lakes, NJ/Vernon Twp.).

Purdue was 21st (50.01) in the 400 meters and Mike Parrillo (fr. Whippany, NJ/Whippany Park) finished 24th (57.45) in the 400 meter hurdles.  Glenn Kohles (fr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.) finished 17th in the shot put with a throw of 46’ 11.75” (14.32 meters) and Darrell Corbin (so. Logan Twp., NJ/Kingsway Reg.) came in 22nd (45’ 1.5”, 13.75 meters). 

The men only had 10 student-athletes that qualified for the ECAC Championships.  Rowan finished tied for 14th out of 65 schools in the team scoring.
