EWING, NJ – The Rowan University men’s track and field team traveled to The College of New Jersey on Saturday for the Lions’ Invitational.

Glenn Kohles (fr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.) came in third (48’ 0.5”, 14.64 meters) in the shot put and was seventh (147’ 8”, 45 meters) in the discus.  Joe Mineo (sr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) tied for seventh (6’ 2”, 1.88 meters) in the high jump.  Darrell Corbin (so. Logan Twp., NJ/Kingsway Reg.) had a seventh place (45’ 0.25”, 13.72 meters) in the shot put.   

Steven Iafrate (jr. Closter, NJ/Demarest) finished seventh (166’ 9”, 50.82 meters) in the javelin and Joe Kelly (fr. Pitman, NJ/Pitman) was 15th (151’ 5”, 46.16 meters).  Mike Parrillo (fr. Whippany, NJ/Whippany Park) came in ninth (56.91) in the 400 meter hurdles.  Timothy Reardon (fr. Burlington, NJ/Burlington Twp.) finished 11th (16:00.30) in the 5000 meters. 

In the discus, Dalton Trembow (fr. New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt) and Corbin were 12th (133’ 7”, 40.71 meters) and 14th (132’ 4”, 40.35 meters) respectively.  Jason Jenkins (jr. Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) was 16th (130’ 6”, 39.77 meters) and  Bill Kelly (fr. Rio Grande, NJ/Middle Twp.), 22nd (123’ 10”, 37.74 meters).  Bill Kelly was 16th (40’ 2.25”, 12.25 meters) in the shot put followed by Trembow, 17th (40’ 0.75”, 12.21 meters) and Jenkins, 19th (38’ 5”, 11.71 meters).

Will Alston (sr. Matawan, NJ/Matawan Reg.) took 13th (50.72 in the 400 meters and was 20th (23.00) in the 200 meters.  Dave Quimby (so. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) was 25th (1:57.87) in the 800 meters.  Tony Greco (fr. Montvale, NJ/Pascack Hills) finished 21st (38’ 11.5”, 11.87 meters) in the triple jump and 26th (18’ 9”, 5.71 meters) in the long jump.

Rowan hosts the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday and Sunday, May 4 and 5.  The Saturday events start at noon and the meet begins at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
