LAKEWOOD, NJ – The Rowan University men’s track and field team took second place at the Collegiate Track Conference Championships on Saturday.  The two-day meet included 17 teams and was held at Georgian Court University.

Rowan won the 4x100 (42.26) and 4x400 (3:22.47) meter relays.  The 4x100 included Brandon Taylor (sr. Woodstown, NJ/Woodstown), Tyler Coulbourn (fr. Franklinville, NJ/Delsea Reg.), Frank Rubino (fr. Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) and Ali Ejaz (sr. Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro). Taylor, Taylor Purdue (sr. Highland Lakes, NJ/Vernon Twp.), Ejaz and Demetrius Rooks (sr. Galloway, NJ/Absegami) were on the 4x400.  The 4x800 meter relay with Ethan Wolmark (jr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee), Jesse Spector (so. Rockaway, NJ/Morris Hills), Mike Lewis (so. Glen Mills, PA/Downingtown W.) and Jameer Roberts (fr. Camden, NJ/Highland Reg.) finished fourth (8:24.41). 

Rooks won the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 53.08.  Ejaz ran 11.29 in the 100 meters for first place while Coulbourn and Taylor were third (11.41) and sixth (11.63) respectively.  Glenn Kohles (fr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.) had a first place (48’ 8.25”, 14.84 meters) in the shot put and was seventh (134’ 11”, 41.12 meters) in the discus.     

Purdue came in second (48.51) in the 400 meters.  Jason Jenkins (jr. Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) had a throw of 141’ 1.5” (43.01 meters) in the discus for second place.  Joe Mineo (sr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) took fourth in the high jump with a height of 6’ 2” (1.88 meters).  Darrell Corbin (so. Logan Twp., NJ/Kingsway Reg.) finished fourth (45’ 7.75”, 13.91 meters) in the shot put and eighth (132’ 4”, 40.34 meters) in the discus.   

Mike Parrillo (fr. Whippany, NJ/Whippany Park) had a fifth place (57.88) in the 400 meters hurdles. Spector came in fifth (10:19.31) in the 3000 meter steeplechase and Mike Davies (so. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Liberty) was 10th (10:52.40).  In the 1500 meters, Lewis finished seventh (4:12.14) while Tim Dole (fr. Manuta, NJ/Clearview Reg.) and Jeff Tauriello (jr. Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) were 11th (4:17.05) and 15th (4:22.21) respectively.

Wolmark came in eighth (2:03.99) in the 800 meters.  Tyray Forte (fr. Plainfield, NJ/Plainfield) was ninth (41’ 6.5”, 12.66 meters) in the triple jump.  Josh McGriff (sr. Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central Reg.) had a 10th place (51.49) in the 400 meters.  Rob Buzby (so. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) took 10th (16:43.59) in the 5000 meters.  Brendan Dugan (fr. Westfield, NJ/Westfield) finished 13th (23.73) in the 200 meters.
