CHESTER, PA – The Rowan University men’s and women’s track and field teams competed on the first day of the Danny Curran Invitational on Thursday. The two-day meet continues on Friday at Widener University.
In the women’s triple jump, Jewel Brown (fr. Clayton, NJ/Clayton) finished second with a school record 36’ 7.75” (11.17 meters). She broke the mark of 36’ 7” (11.16 meters) that was held by Marketa Morse (1995). Priscila Antuna (jr. Waretown, NJ/Waretown) came in ninth (19:14.39) in the 5000 meters and Brenda Mendez (so. Glassboro, NJ/Delsea Reg.) finished 30th (21:05.07). Steph Greco (sr. Monmouth Jct., NJ/South Brunswick) and Jess Lomonaco (jr. Blackwood, NJ/Triton Reg.) tied for 12th place in the discus with 87’ 4” (26.62 meters).
Jason Jenkins (jr. Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) took third place in the men’s discus with a throw of 139’ 1” (42.40 meters). Dalton Trembow (fr. New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt) finished 10th (126’ 4”, 38.52 meters) while Glenn Kohles (fr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.) was 13th (118’ 2”, 36.02 meters) and Darrell Corbin (so. Logan Twp., NJ/Kingsway Reg.) was 21st (105’ 6”, 32.15 meters). Adam Ross (fr. Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) had a 12th place (34:24.28) in the 10,000 meters.
