WEST CHESTER, PA – The Rowan University men’s track and field team competed at the Golden Ram Collegiate Invitational on Saturday. The meet was held at West Chester University.
The Profs won the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 43.04. The relay included Brandon Taylor (sr. Woodstown, NJ/Woodstown), Tyler Coulbourn (fr. Franklinville, NJ/Delsea Reg.), Frank Rubino (fr. Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) and Marcus Rawls (jr. North Brunswick, NJ/Florence Twp. Mem.). Demetrius Rooks (sr. Galloway, NJ/Absegami) had a winning time of 54.28 in the 400 meter hurdles. Taylor Purdue (sr. Highland Lakes, NJ/Vernon Twp.) ran 50.38 in the 400 meters for second place. Taylor took second (11.14) in the 100 meters followed by Rawls, fourth (11.31) and Coulbourn, fifth (11.39).
Raj Singh (so. Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany Hills) captured second in the 10,000 meters with a time of 34:40.08. In the 1500 meters, Ethan Wolmark (jr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) had a third place (4:07.44) while Tim Dole (fr. Mantua, NJ/Clearview Reg.) and Dan Murray (fr. Seaville, NJ/Ocean City) were 13th (4:17.54) and 23rd (4:22.16) respectively. Ali Ejaz (sr. Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro) took third (50.75) in the 400 meters. He was fifth (22.62) in the 200 meters followed by Purdue, sixth (22.69). The 4x400 meter relay came in sixth (3:32.52) with Mike Lewis (so. Glen Mills, PA/Downingtown W.), Dave Quimby (so. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape), Jameer Roberts (fr. Camden, NJ/Highland Reg.) and Mike Parrillo (fr. Whippany, NJ/Whippany Park). Roberts was sixth (2:00.25) in the 800 meters.
Rob Buzby (so. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) finished eighth (16:24.92) in the 5000 meters and Timothy Reardon (fr. Burlington, NJ/Burlington Twp.) was 15th (16:42.52). Brendan Dugan (fr. Westfield, NJ/Westfield) was ninth (11.54) in the 100 meters and 15th (23.37) in the 200 meters. Parrillo had a 13th place (1:00.30) in the 400 meter hurdles. Will Alston (sr. Matawan, NJ/Matawan Reg.) finished 13th (52.07) in the 400 meters and 22nd (23.54) in the 200 meters. Quimby took 17th (52.28) in the 400 meters.
In the field events, Steven Iafrate (jr. Closter, NJ/Demarest) was third (176’ 1”, 53.67 meters) in the javelin followed by Joe Kelly (fr. Pitman, NJ/Pitman), fourth (168’ 8”, 51.40 meters). Rubino had a fourth place in the long jump with 21’ 2.5” (6.46 meters). Joe Mineo (sr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) tied for fourth in the high jump (6’ 0.75”, 1.85 meters).
Jason Jenkins (jr. Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) finished fifth in the discus (138’ 10”, 42.31 meters) and 19th in the shot put (39’ 10”, 12.14 meters). Glenn Kohles (fr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.) was 12th (43’ 6.50”, 13.27 meters) in the shot put and 26th in the discus (112’ 2”, 34.18 meters). Dalton Trembow (fr. New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt) had an 18th place (122’, 37.18 meters) in the discus.
Next week, Rowan travels to Widener University for the Danny Curran Invitational on Thursday and Friday, March 28 and 29.
