Men's Track and Field Competes On Final Day of Wake Forest Open

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Rowan University men’s track and field team competed on the final day of the Wake Forest Open on Saturday.  The two-day meet included teams from Division I, II and III and was held at Wake Forest University.

Demetrius Rooks (sr. Galloway, NJ/Absegami) finished third (52.56) in the 400 meter hurdles.  Joe Mineo (sr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) had a third place in the high jump B section with a height of 6’ 4.25” (1.94 meters).  The 4x400 meter relay took fourth with a time of 3:12.84.  The relay included Josh McGriff (sr. Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central Reg.), Taylor Purdue (sr. Highland Lakes, NJ/Vernon Twp.), Ali Ejaz (sr. Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro) and Rooks.      

Ejaz came in 10th (21.61) in the 200 meters and Brandon Taylor (sr. Woodstown, NJ/Woodstown) was 22nd (22.19).  Glenn Kohles (fr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.) was 14th in the discus.  He had a throw of 139’ 6” (42.52 meters).  In the 3000 meters, Jon Sewnig (so. Yardville, NJ/Notre Dame) took 11th place (9:05.38).

Mike Parrillo (fr. Whippany, NJ/Whippany Park) came in 24th (58.24) in the 400 meter hurdles and Jameer Roberts (fr. Camden, NJ/Highland Reg.) was 34th (1:02.82).  Dave Quimby (so. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) had a 44th place (1:59.42) in the 800 meters.

Next week, Rowan travels to West Chester University on Saturday, March 23 for the Golden Ram Collegiate Invitational at 10 a.m.
