COLLEGEVILLE, PA – The Rowan University men’s indoor track team took third place at the Frank Colden Invitational on Saturday. The 16 team meet was held at Ursinus College.
The Profs won the 4x200 (1:33.04) and 4x400 (3:36.48) meter relays. The 4x200 consisted of Ali Ejaz (jr. Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro), Brendan Dugan (fr. Westfield, NJ/Westfield), Tyler Coulbourn (fr. Franklinville, NJ/Delsea Reg.) and Marcus Rawls (jr. North Brunswick, NJ/Florence Twp. Mem.). Mike Parrillo (fr. Whippany, NJ/Whippany Park), Tyray Forte (fr. Plainfield, NJ/Plainfield), Will Alston (sr. Matawan, NJ/Matawan Reg.) and Joe Mineo (sr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) were on the 4x400.
Rawls ran a winning time of 7.08 in the 60 meter dash. He had the top time (7.12) in the prelims. Mineo finished second in the high jump with a height of 6’ 2” (1.88 meters). Frank Rubino (fr. Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) came in third in the long jump with 20’ 8.5” (6.31 meters).
In the one mile run, Mike Carotenuto (sr. Port Monmouth, NJ/Middletown N.) finished second (4:26.47) while Ethan Wolmark (jr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) was fourth (4:30.40). Jesse Spector (so. Rockaway, NJ/Morris Hills) and Tim Dole (fr. Mantua, NJ/Clearview Reg.) were ninth (4:35.20) and 11th (4:45.00) respectively. Ejaz came in fifth (53.18) in the 400 meters followed by Alston, sixth (53.19) and Parrillo, 11th (54.47). Dugan took fifth place (23.65) in the 200 meters and Jameer Roberts (fr. Camden, NJ/Highland Reg.) had a seventh place (2:04.70) in the 800 meters. In the 60 meter dash, Dugan finished 10th (7.38) and Brandon Taylor (sr. Woodstown, NJ/Woodstown) was 17th (7.50).
Rob Buzby (so. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) came in seventh (16:26.14) in the 5000 meters while Raj Singh (so. Parisppany, NJ/Parsippany Hills) and Timothy Reardon (fr. Burlington, NJ/Burlington Twp.) were 10th (16:42.60) and 11th (16:53.81) respectively. Jason Jenkins (so. Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) finished eighth in the shot put (39’ 10.75”, 12.16 meters) and Dalton Trembow (fr. New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt) was 10th (39’ 3.25”, 11.97 meters).
Next week, Rowan will compete at the Collegiate Track Conference Championships on Saturday, February 9 at 9 a.m. The championships are at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT.
