Box Score ITHACA, NY – The Rowan University women's soccer team lost to Ithaca College, 1-0 in the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament on Sunday.
Back Anna Gray (sr. Bethlehem, NY/Delmar) scored the winning goal at 27:35 on a direct kick. It was her fourth goal this season.
Goalkeeper Beth Coppolecchia (so. Katonah, NY/Somers) stopped six shots for her ninth shutout. Profs' goalie Carleigh Trivino (fr. Caldwell, NJ/Caldwell) had two saves.
Ithaca (18-2) moves on to the sectionals on Friday and Saturday, November 22 and 23 or Saturday and Sunday, November 23 and 24. The national semifinals and final are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, December 6 and December 7 at the Blossom Soccer Complex in San Antonio, TX.
In the first round on Saturday, Rowan defeated Skidmore College, 1-0 while Ithaca had a 3-0 shutout over Penn State Behrend. The Profs end the year with a 17-4 record. It was Rowan's 10th appearance and ninth straight in the NCAA tournament.
