SWARTHMORE, PA – The Rowan University women's swim team defeated Swarthmore College, 149-111 on Saturday. The Profs are undefeated with a 6-0 record.
The 200 medley relay took first place with a time of 1:56.59. The medley relay included Lauren Grajek (sr. Freehold, NJ/Freehold Twp.), Olivia Wojtowicz (so. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's County), Rikki Berk (so. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) and Victoria Grimsgaard (so. Eatontown, NJ/Monmouth Reg.). The 200 freestyle relay with Julie Sheehan (fr. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.), Grimsgaard, Leanne Zaug (jr. Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) and Grajek came in second in 1:44.87.
Allison Schneider (sr. Cranford, NJ/Cranford) was the winner in three individual events. She had first places in the 1000 freestyle (11:11.02), 200 freestyle (2:02.96) and 400 individual medley (4:48.65). Grimsgaard finished first in the 50 (24.75) and 100 (55.27) freestyles. Julia DelNero (so. Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) won the 500 freestyle (5:30.07) and she was second in the 1000 (11:19.48).
Grajek took second place in the 100 (1:03.01) and 200 (2:20.02) backstrokes. Wojtowicz finished second in the 100 (1:12.10) and 200 (2:33.59) breaststrokes. She was third (4:54.75) in the 400 individual medley. Zaug swam 2:04.52 in the 200 free and was second. Nicole Vick (jr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) had a second place in the 500 freestyle (5:39.99) and was third in the 200 free (2:04.98). Christine Gustafson (fr. Clifton, NJ/Clifton) finished second (2:22.28) in the 200 butterfly.
Sheehan came in second in the 100 free (57.67) and was third (26.72) in the 50 free. Sam Wahl (so. Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood) finished third in the 100 (1:13.55) and 200 (2:35.75) breaststrokes. Alyssa Schaefer (jr. Ringwood, NJ/DePaul Catholic) had third places in the 500 freestyle (5:46.16) and 200 butterfly (2:27.67). Sara Seidman (so. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.) took third in the 100 (1:07.36) and 200 (2:24.57) backstrokes.
Next, Rowan travels to Pace University on Saturday, November 23 for a 2 p.m. meet.
