Women's Soccer Shuts Out Ramapo, 7-0

Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's soccer team shut out Ramapo College, 7-0 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Wednesday night.  It is the Profs' 10th shutout on the season.

Forward Erika Suhl (jr. Brick, NJ/Brick Mem.) scored three goals and forward Tiffany Kelly (so. Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany) followed with two.  Forward Dayna Sakalsky (sr. Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) contributed with one and two assists.  Back Jackie Herting (so. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) added one goal.  Back Kayla Leahey (jr. Keansburg, NJ/ Warwick Valley (NY), forward Nicole Bashford (fr. Union, NJ/Union) and Suhl each had an assist.    

Rowan has a 13-2 record with a 5-1 conference mark.  The Profs were ranked fifth this week in the South Atlantic Region.  Ramapo drops to 5-8 overall and 2-3 in the NJAC.  Goalkeeper Carleigh Trivino (fr. Caldwell, NJ/Caldwell) made two saves in 71:48 minutes and goalie Jamie Cheeka (fr. Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) played the remainder of the game.  Goalie Talia Auslin (sr. Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) turned away fiveshots.

The Profs were ahead 3-0 after the first half.  Kelly started the scoring at 7:15 on a breakaway after a feed from Suhl.  At 30:05, Suhl headed in a free kick by Sakalsky.  Suhl redirected Sakalsky's shot for the Profs' third goal at 32:57.

In the second stanza, Sakalsky hit the right side of the net at 50:12 with an assist from Leahey.  Suhl's third goal came on a breakaway at 55:02 and Kelly produced her second goal at 58:18.  Herting hit the right side of the net at 67:21 on a cross from Bashford.   

Rowan's next game is at Rutgers-Newark on Saturday, October 19 at 7:30 p.m.
