Results

NEW YORK, NY – The Rowan University men’s track team started the indoor season at the New York City Gotham Cup on Friday.  The meet was held at The Armory.    

The Profs finished 12th (8:33.12) in the 4x800 meter relay and the 4x400 meter relay came in 17th (3:28.28).  The 4x800 meter relay consisted of Mike Carotenuto (sr. Port Monmouth, NJ/Middletown N.), Dan Murray (fr. Seaville, NJ/Ocean City), Jameer Roberts (fr. Camden, NJ/Highland Reg.) and Dave Quimby (so. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape).  Will Alston (sr. Matawan, NJ/Matawan Reg.), Josh McGriff (sr. Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central Reg.), Taylor Purdue (sr. Highland Lakes, NJ/Vernon Twp.) and Mike Parrillo (fr. Whippany NJ/Whippany Park) made up the 4x400 meter relay. 

Jon Sewnig (so. Yardville, NJ/Notre Dame) ran 15:16.76 in the 5000 meters for an 11th place.  Glen Kohles (fr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.) captured 11th in the shot put with a throw of 43’ 1.5” (13.14 meters) and Dalton Trembow (fr. New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt) was 25th (38’ 6.75”, 11.75 meters).  Carotenuto came in 16th (4:25.86) in the one mile.  Marcus Rawls (jr. North Brunswick, NJ/Florence Twp.) finished 23rd (7.13) in the 60 meters.  Alston was 30th (1:07.81) in the 500 meters and McGriff followed 32nd (1:07.94). 

Ethan Wolmark (jr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) took 28th (9:01.45) in the 3000 meters and Jeff Tauriello (jr. Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) was 31st (9:06.16).  In the 400 meters, Purdue and Ali Ejaz (jr. Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro) were 49th (52.39) and 51st (52.42) respectively.  Roberts finished 32nd (2:02.62) in the 800 meters.

Rowan travels to Ursinus College on Friday, January 18 for the Collegeville Classic at 3 p.m.
