Women's Soccer Wins 1-0 At William Paterson University

WAYNE, NJ – The Rowan University women’s soccer team won 1-0 over conference opponent William Paterson University on Saturday.

Midfielder/forward Jess Durnian (so. Brick, NJ/Brick Twp.) scored the game-winner at 15:05.  She knocked in a rebound after William Paterson goalie Mary Jane Seiler (jr. Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville) had punched away a shot.  It was Durnian’s second goal on the season.  

The Profs are 6-2 overall with a 3-1 mark in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Pioneers have a 5-5-2 record and they are 2-3 in the conference. 

Goalie Maria Dorris (sr. Mantua, NJ/Clearview Reg.) stopped six shots for her fifth shutout. 
Seiler played the first half and made two saves.  Goalie Alyssa Falduto (jr. Nutley, NJ/Nutley) stopped two shots in the second period.  William Paterson collected 15 shots while Rowan took eight.

At home, Rowan plays Wilkes University on Wednesday, October 3 at 7 p.m.
