Men Win CTC 4x400 Meter Relay At The Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Rowan University men’s track team competed in three relays at the Penn Relays on Friday. 

The Profs won the College Men’s 4x400 meter relay Collegiate Track Conference race.  The 4x400 had a winning time of 3:15.62 with Jayce Maxwell (sr. Toms River, NJ/Monsignor Donovan), Taylor Purdue (jr. Highland Lakes, NJ/Vernon Twp.), Ali Ejaz (jr. Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro) and Demetrius Rooks (jr. Galloway, NJ/Absegami). 

The 4x200 meter relay ran a time of 1:29.14 in the heats for 29th place with Brandon Taylor (jr. Woodstown, NJ/Woodstown), Maxwell, Josh McGriff (jr. Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central Reg.) and Ejaz.  In the college men’s 4x100 meter relay heats, Rowan finished 40th out of 88 schools with a season best of 42.15.  The 4x100 included Taylor, Maxwell, Marcus Rawls (so. North Brunswick, NJ/Florence Twp. Mem.) and Ejaz.  Their time is currently tied for 26th among the NCAA Division III top performances. 

Rowan travels to Ewing, NJ on Saturday, April 28 for the Lions’ Invitational at 10:30 a.m.
