CHESTER, PA – The Rowan University men’s track and field team traveled to the Widener University Invitational on Saturday.
Brandon Taylor (jr. Woodstown, NJ/Woodstown) ran a winning time of 10.85 in the 100 meters. He also had a seventh place (22.42) in the 200 meters. Frank Visconti (jr. Berlin, NJ/Eastern Reg.) won the shot put with a season best throw of 47’ 11.25” (14.61 meters). Mike Carotenuto (jr. Port Monmouth, NJ/Middletown N.) came in third (1:53.41) in the 800 meters while Ali Ejaz (jr. Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro) took third (22.00) in the 200 meters. Carotenuto’s time was a career top time. He is currently ranked 22nd in the NCAA Division III in the 800 meters.
Marcus Rawls (so. North Brunswick, NJ/Florence Twp. Mem.) finished fourth (11.11) in the 100 meters. Adam Diekewicz (sr. Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro) produced a fourth place in the pole vault. He had a height of 13’ 9.25” (4.20 meters). In the high jump, Joe Mineo (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) and Jack Curry (so. Roosevelt, NJ/Hightstown) finished sixth (6’ 0.75”, 1.85 meters) and seventh (5’ 10.75”, 1.80 meters) respectively.
Taylor Purdue (jr. Highland Lakes, NJ/Vernon Twp.) took ninth (50.54) in the 400 meters and Josh McGriff (jr. Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central Reg.) was 15th (51.79). Eric DuBois (sr. Pittsgrove, NJ/A.P. Schalick) finished 10th (3:58.14) in the 1500 meters. Mike Lewis (fr. Glen Mills, PA/Downingtown W.) had an 11th place (1:58.12) in the 800 meters.
Next week, Rowan has student-athletes that qualified for the Penn Relays on Thursday-Saturday, April 26-28. The Profs will also travel to The College of New Jersey on Saturday, April 28 for the Lions’ Invitational.
